My work is inspired by walking in the landscape – coast and hills – I love looking out across a view with big skies and the feeling of space and perspective that brings. That is what I try to capture in my work.

I work in oils, acrylics, watercolour, pen and ink and textiles.

I always start with small sketches, then develop ideas into larger pieces, building up layers of colour. A feeling of the landscape evolves from manipulating the media, so the work captures something of my experience of the environment rather than a literal representation.
