Katie Tyson

‘Since graduating from Central St. Martins, London with a First Class Honours Degree in Fashion Print, I have worked as a printed textile designer for the fashion industry – creating prints and patterns for many international brands. 

I love illustrating highly patterned, colourful artworks in Watercolour, Gouache and Inks which are then transformed onto digitally printed fabrics. I really enjoy the process of seeing my paintings transformed from paper, to printed fabrics and into useful items like silk scarves, tea towels and bags. My range of prints and printed textiles are in my own distinct, hand painted, whimsical style and inspired by an appreciation of the natural world- plants and flowers, animals and fairytales. 

Recently I have moved into my own studio at Bridge Cottage, Port Sunlight where I host creative workshops and courses, sharing my skills and experience from a career in textile design with others.’
